School Counseling Week is a timely reminder of the quiet, essential work happening in our schools every day.

This week, we recognize and thank our school counselors for the critical role they play in supporting students’ academic growth, social-emotional well-being, and future planning. Counselors are often the first to notice when a student is struggling—and the steady presence that helps them navigate challenges both inside and outside the classroom.

From individual student support and crisis response to academic advising and career guidance, your work matters more than most people realize—and it truly changes lives.

If you see a school counselor today, take a moment to thank them.

Thank you to our school counselors for your compassion, professionalism, and unwavering commitment to students. Our schools are stronger because of you.

Reminder: The school Social Studies Fair will be held on Jan. 21. All 3-5 students are required to participate.

Raleigh Co Schools: Raleigh County Schools will operate on a two hour delay Thursday, January 15, 2026.

the RCBOE’s scheduled meeting for today, December 9, 2025 at 4:30 PM.

We also ask that the principals of the schools for the LSIC Presentations and Student Recognitions to please notify the staff, students, parents and businesses
and let them know it will be rescheduled at a later date.

This week begins WVGSA testing. Please ensure that your student/s in grades 3rd-5th has a good nights sleep and is at school on time each day this week. Students in grades 3-5 who are present , on time and try their hardest on the test everyday this week, will have a special treat Friday. We will be sending home a letter this week that gives parents /guardians access to their child's scores. Once the test is administered parents/guardians can see how their child performed on each test. Encourage your student to do their best! Go Indians!
